Jingdezhen Ceramic University confirms that the biennale presents 207 selected works spanning vessels, sculpture, installation, painting and moving image.

Why make time for it

Information published by Jingdezhen Ceramic University on July 1 says the biennale opened June 29 and is co-hosted by the provincial culture and tourism authority, Jingdezhen municipal government, the university, the International Academy of Ceramics and other partners.

The exhibition selected 207 works from 2,560 global submissions across vessels, sculpture, installation, painting and moving image. It is especially valuable after seeing the imperial-kiln story, because it shows how contemporary artists engage materials, technology and global exchange.

Place it intelligently in your route

The university exhibition area is not in the same visitor cluster as Taoyangli or Taoxichuan. Allow a half-day and confirm current opening, booking and campus-entry document requirements with the venue before travel.

Pair it with Sanbao or Taoxichuan to see how ideas move between university, museum, studio and city. Specialist visitors can request an English, French, Spanish, Russian, Japanese or Korean guide and share their research focus in advance.

Look beyond the photo

Ask three questions: which clay, glaze or firing process is used; which inherited vessel form is retained or disrupted; and how installation, moving image or technology changes the meaning. A throwing or cobalt-painting workshop afterward makes the material constraints easier to understand.

Dates and admission conditions can change. This article is based on the host university's announcement and does not replace the venue's same-day notice, especially for groups and professional visits.
