A final 72-hour checklist for museum bookings, passport verification, payment tests, connectivity, Chinese hotel addresses and station pickup.
Seventy-two hours before departure
Check passport validity, whether the hotel accepts international guests, and exact name and document spelling on museum bookings; save confirmations offline. Official reporting notes improved payment, connectivity and multilingual services, but each traveler should test platforms personally.
Save Chinese addresses for the hotel, attractions and emergency contact.
Arrival day
Prepare mobile payment, a physical bank card and some RMB cash; make sure the phone can receive verification. For pickup, provide train or flight, exit, group size, luggage and contact number rather than assuming one station exit.
Declare fragile ceramics or oversized equipment in advance.
Keep the first evening light
Place non-refundable workshops and strict timed entries on the next day. Use the first evening for check-in, nearby dinner or a cancellable night visit. Notify hotel and driver after delays.
Chinese, English, French, Spanish, Russian, Japanese and Korean guides may be assigned, but immigration, medical and payment-platform decisions remain with the responsible authority.
