The Ceramic Fair runs October 18–22, but an active event does not guarantee a traveler a room, admission or transport. Confirm lodging, access, arrival, luggage and return separately, and keep a public city itinerary that does not depend on an event badge.

Secure the bed before the badge

Contact the hotel directly to confirm dates, room, total price, cancellation, breakfast, foreign-guest registration and latest arrival. Do not plan a midnight arrival when only a platform shows availability and the hotel cannot confirm. Save the Chinese name, address, phone and booking number.

If the center is full, use another urban area only with confirmed transport. Avoid an isolated stay without knowing last-bus or ride-hailing conditions, and be cautious with private room resales, requests to bypass registration or large off-platform transfers.

Separate fair access from a public city plan

Use the organizer or a clearly authorized channel to confirm public opening, real-name registration, accepted ID, time slot and entrance. Without confirmation, never buy a staff, guest or fast-track badge from an individual, and do not treat a news report as a ticket.

A fallback can combine a normally open and reserved museum, the public areas of Taoyangli or Taoxichuan, a lawful market and a confirmed workshop. Each venue still follows its own current notice and booking rules.

Keep two options for transfer, luggage and return

Before arrival, record train or flight, exit, group size, luggage and phone. A private transfer needs driver, plate, price, waiting terms and a legal pickup. Without confirmation, use the official taxi queue or ride-hailing rather than accepting a stranger's solicitation.

Ask the hotel or station about formal luggage storage and buy only as many ceramics as you can handle safely. Protect the return ticket, security margin and outer pickup over one final event; shorten or postpone the trip if admission or lodging remains unresolved.
