Official volunteers support 19 heritage components with directions, emergency and visitor help. Senior travelers should still verify luggage, accessibility and transfers in advance.
What a service point can do
An August 31 municipal report describes volunteers providing directions, crowd assistance, emergency help and visitor services at 19 heritage components. This reduces navigation difficulty but does not mean every point has fixed lockers, wheelchairs, lifts or a clinic.
Check entrances, toilets, seating, bag limits and accessible routes individually. Use signed service points and never follow a stranger into a closed area.
Only two priorities a day
Choose either Taoyangli or China Ceramics Museum as the morning anchor, rest after lunch, then use evening for a short old-city or Taoxichuan visit. Hydrate and sit every 60–90 minutes, avoiding exposed midday and continuous stone paving.
Travelers aged 65+ can review the museum's green-lane rule and carry qualifying and identity documents. Foreign-document handling needs advance confirmation.
Vehicle and companion
Send the Chinese address, group size and folded-wheelchair or luggage dimensions in advance. Verify vehicle qualification, insurance, waiting and legal pickup. Do not combine rural Yaoli or Fuliang with a full city-museum day.
A multilingual guide may assist rest, entry and emergency communication but cannot make medical decisions. Seek immediate help for chest pain, breathing difficulty or altered consciousness.
