Leping's two 4A attractions suit different mobility and weather conditions. Compare cave visiting, exposed walking, transport and return time before choosing one or combining them.

Choose by experience and mobility

The municipal tourism bureau's July 2026 long-term list classifies both Hongyan Cave and Jiangxi Weird Stone Forest as national 4A attractions. Hongyan emphasizes a cave and mountain setting, while the stone forest is more exposed. The same rating does not mean equal walking, indoor cover or visit length.

Groups with seniors, young children or knee limitations should ask about stairs, slippery surfaces, rest points and alternatives before choosing.

Do not force both into one day

A return trip from central Jingdezhen also needs city pickup, road, parking, lunch and a safe return before closing. First-time visitors can explore one well and keep the other as a weather or opening backup; combine only after both confirm access and the group has time and stamina.

An official A-level list is not a same-day timetable. Verify tickets, booking, last entry, cave or trail access and maintenance through official attraction channels.

Transport and safety boundaries

Public transport works for fixed returns. Groups, luggage or flexible stops may justify a legally operated private vehicle; record waiting, parking, overtime and return terms. A driver must not use a closed road as a shortcut.

Bring non-slip shoes and a light layer for a cave; use sun, water and lightning precautions outdoors. After rain, do not cross barriers or enter closed branches or informal paths. A multilingual guide may interpret geology and culture, while venue control takes priority.
