From Shanghai: direct train first
Search Shanghai Hongqiao to Jingdezhen North. Direct high-speed services appear in the timetable references checked for this guide. Examples take about 3 hours 10 minutes to 4 hours 15 minutes on the train; this is a planning reference, not the full range of services or a live schedule.
Other departures can use Shanghai South or Shanghai Songjiang. These are different stations: check the actual departure station before buying and before leaving your hotel.
If arriving on a flight, allow time for arrival formalities, baggage and the journey to the railway station. Shanghai Pudong Airport is not at Hongqiao Railway Station. Do not assume a train connection is protected if your flight is late.
If suitable direct tickets are unavailable, use 12306's transfer search and compare the complete journey and transfer time. A private road journey can be quoted for specific needs, but compare its door-to-door duration with rail first.
From Nanchang city: compare the departure stations
Search Nanchang East to Jingdezhen North. The checked timetable examples include journeys of about 42-49 minutes. Nanchang West also appears in direct-service listings, with a longer example of about 1 hour 26 minutes.
Nanchang, Nanchang West and Nanchang East are separate stations. Compare your hotel-to-station journey with the train duration; the shortest train ride does not always give the shortest door-to-door trip. Read your ticket's station name carefully.
Choose a direct private transfer if you prefer pickup from a hotel or are travelling with luggage and a group. The price and road duration need to be checked for your exact addresses and travel time.
From Nanchang Changbei Airport: coach or private pickup
The Jingdezhen municipal government has published information about a direct coach between Nanchang Changbei International Airport and the Jingdezhen city air terminal. Its operator describes a normal road journey of approximately 150 minutes. This excludes flight arrival, baggage, waiting for departure and onward travel.
Look for the official WeChat account Jingdezhen Travel – Changbei Airport Bus and select the airport-to-Jingdezhen direction and your date. Confirm the current departure point, timetable, fare, luggage rules and drop-off arrangements in the booking service; older announcements are not a live timetable.
Compare this with a private airport transfer if the coach timing does not fit your arrival. For a rail option, allow a separate journey from the airport to the station named on your ticket. For the return journey to a flight, allow extra road and airport time.
From Wuyuan: train from the town, or transfer from a village
Search Wuyuan to Jingdezhen North. Direct trains are listed; a checked example takes 29 minutes, so roughly half an hour is a useful on-train planning reference. Check your actual departure and duration on 12306.
Huangling, Jiangwan and other villages are not Wuyuan Railway Station. Add the journey from your accommodation or scenic area to the station, then the trip from Jingdezhen North to your hotel.
A direct private transfer may suit a village pickup, several bags or additional stops. Send the precise location, party size and desired stops for a quotation. Coach services may also be an option, but verify the Wuyuan-to-Jingdezhen direction and current departure point rather than relying on a timetable for the opposite direction.
From Shangrao: train from the station, or road pickup from your resort
Search Shangrao to Jingdezhen North. The checked direct-service examples take about 53-67 minutes. A through train does not require you to change simply because it stops at an intermediate station; follow the itinerary on your ticket.
If you are staying at Gexian Village or Wangxian Valley, do not count the rail journey as the whole trip. Allow for getting from the scenic area to Shangrao Railway Station and then from Jingdezhen North to your hotel.
You can also request a direct private transfer from the resort or hotel to Jingdezhen. Provide the exact pickup address and luggage details so the route, vehicle, waiting time, road charges and total quotation can be confirmed.
Arriving at Jingdezhen North
Jingdezhen North and Jingdezhen are different stations. Share your confirmed station, train number, arrival time, party size and hotel address when requesting pickup.
For a private pickup, agree on the exit or meeting point and how delays affect waiting. For independent travel, follow station signs for the currently operating taxis and public transport. Do not assume a bus or ride-hailing pickup uses the same station square as your exit.
Tell us whether you are staying near Taoxichuan, Taoyangli or in Sanbao Village. A hotel transfer and a full sightseeing day are different bookings. If you want to go straight to a workshop, leave room for delays and confirm its appointment separately.
Book against your travel date
Rail durations above are examples from publicly available September 2026 timetable pages checked on 1 October, not a live check of your intended departure. Ticket availability, fares, stopping patterns and operating dates can change. They exclude station transfers, security checks and waiting.
Use Railway 12306 for the final train selection. International visitors can use its English website and should follow the booking service's identity-document instructions. Road services and private transfers require separate confirmation.

Are the quoted journey times door to door?
No. Train examples cover the rail segment only. Add travel to and from stations and time for boarding. The airport coach estimate covers its road segment in normal conditions.
